Designate/Undesignate using TGP.

I'm not sure if this is a bug or is intentional correct system behaviour, but if it is correct I can't see any logical reason for it!

When you're using the TGP and slewing it around then press the Cage/Un-cage button (WITH the TGP still set as SOI - the little diamond in the top right of DDI) to boresight the TGP it also cages/un-cages the Flight Path Marker at the same time on the HUD. After a couple of times doing this I loose track of whether the HUD Flight Path Marker is caged or un-caged and showing or not showing drift with the wind/correct flight path direction.

Is this intentional system behaviour or a possible bug?

You mean the Cage/Uncage button. I've noticed it as well and I think it's a reported bug. I don't know how it is IRL though, since this is only a problem in NAV mode. In AA, the HUD is always caged and in AG always uncaged, if I'm not mistaken.

Well spotted - my mistake, yes I meant the cage/uncage button on the stick.

I've corrected my original post.

Also yes I was in NAV mode when I noticed this.

The Cage/Uncage is on the throttle, the NWS/Undesignate is on the stick. Anyway, nomenclature is not the issue here :).

I've gotten into the habit of hitting the Cage/Uncage button twice to boresight the TGP in NAV mode. And hey, if you can't tell if your HUD is caged or uncaged, it means there isn't significant crosswind and doesn't really matter.
