Direct X 9 + Windows 7 = Multi-core goodness?

Recommended Posts

From my understanding windows 7 integrates with direct x 9 engine games in such a game that it utilizes multicores from the processor. I have heard this from a few people now and am not sure if it is true.

Lets say I have a dual core. I played Flaming cliffs one and got 40 fps. Does this theoretically mean in flaming cliffs 2 i will be getting around 80?

Also please use the forum search function next time. There's a lot "multicore threads" already.

Yep. Forget about the affinity trick, since DCS 1.01 patch and with FC2 it's automatically applied.

The results going from XP to Vista or W7 are like buying a new computer, seriously it's miraculous.
