Any good Skin makers in here?

I have tried but with no luck to sort skins out......

Are any of you good at making custom skins?

playing with shaders first. obviously thats a texture too. need template!

photoshop and a good pair of eyes and some understanding of light can pull off some good stuff. this was a pic i did for il2 which i was quite proud of. similar editing of the shader textures that are available.

I'v done a few skins for A-10, and I have plans for P-51 once the template comes out.:) Also, those are awesome pics!

I love specular and bump maps. It gives the model a real edge. Cant wait to finish a few of my skins for you guys.

If I may, where are they hiding the skin in dcs? And how do you get to the shader texture?

Yes Zomba that would be great. The shader thing is giving me fits. Trying to get the polished alunimum look.

It's simple really. It's a bmp that when its greener the more dull it is. The magneta (pink) is shiny or the chrome effect.

Now its a matter a choosing the base color for your skin.

Like with A-10C there are great skinners here, out there.

Another thing I forgot to mention as aircraft textures typically look better once in the air verses on the ground. Bare metal tends to look more dull and blush than airborne for whatever reason.

Is it possible to use just one skin and fly it all the time in all scenarios?

I think you have the option in 'LOADOUT' to decide, which skin you want to use.

for those intending skinning specular files- You will need to edit on an individual colour channel. R,G & B, not on RGB. and DXT1 for file without alpha, and DXT5 for file with alpha.
