bflagg
Starforce Problem: (just more information here...) **screenshots can be large.. warning ** 1. Install Lockon (lockon, FC, 1.12a patch) (no Starforce drivers installed) nodriver.gif 2. Run LockOn - don't reboot yet. It checks the CD, then LockON runs. 3. Exit Lockon No starForce is in device manager Not showing in Device Manager 4. Reboot Now star force shows up in Device Manger Installed 5. Click desktop Icon to start lockON Lockon.exe hangs at 30k and CPU is pegged at 100% Game will not run. You cannot kill the task, either using cmd line tools or in task manager. You must Hard reboot your machine. Lockon exe freeze - Starforce (frontline) freeze 100% CPU cycles 6. You can start LockON, after insert CD, the click Play from the Autorun menu 7. Run the starforce removal tool Reboot is necessary 8. Check Device Manger again after reboot Starforce protection is still installed Still Installed Right click and choose uninstall is required to remove it. Step 5/6 has been reported before, but I thought I'd report more information. As reported the game can still be played thru running Play from the CD autorun menu.. Note ** When starting Lockon for the first time, starforce is supposively installed, but no reboot occurs as it used to in the past. I do believe it's the synchronization driver that is the culprit here... Please respond. Thanks, Brett
