which setting in modman graphics controls this?

I'm wondering what setting in the Graphics Editor of Modman controls the loading of textures in the distance. I've increased the sliders on everything but I still get 'unloaded' terrain textures in the distance when flying at about 5,000 ft.

Thanks

Try and manually edit your Config/Graphics.CFG file by decreasing the following values as I have them here - cannot recall default values now:

FogParam2 = 0.2;

ObjectFogMultiplier = 0.4;

Hope this helps:)

Buildings which seem to pop up/appear in the distance and/or appear a bit opaque no longer do so and no longer are opaque. I never was any good at explaining so why do you just not back up your Config.CFG file and give it a try;) No effect on FPS either.:)

Thanks Viper, that's solved half of the niggles I had... Buildings aren't so opaque when you're looking down on them, but now the "pop up" is waaay more noticable...

Who's next to volunteer some info for letting us know if you can tweak it so that they are opaque at long range and so don't "pop up", but are not opaque at close range, so you can see straight through them...

I've had a little play around with these two settings myself and found that setting

FogParam2 = 0.6;

ObjectFogMultiplier = 0.2;

produces a middle ground result, although I'd still like to be able to get rid of the long distance pop up...

  • 4 weeks later...

You can use LOCFG or manually edit graphics.cfg.

As you can see there are three "Land Texture" values, separate for day, night (overcast also), and MFD in A-10 & Su-25T. But be careful, increasing these values lower fps.

Hardware: VPForce Rhino, FSSB R3 Ultra, Virpil T-50CM, Hotas Warthog, Winwing F15EX, Slaw Rudder, GVL224 Trio Throttle, Thrustmaster MFDs, Saitek Trim wheel, Trackir 5, Quest Pro
