Flaming Cliffs Video Render problem in Windows Vista

Installation NOTE: After install of Flaming Cliffs on Windows Vista platform I ran the program and noticed panel render graphics problems as well as plain white (no skins) on aircraft. This install was on an HP Pavilion with an AMD 64 X2 3800 Processor and Nvidia 8500GT video card. Reloading software did not resolve the issue. After much frustration I remembered Vista allows backward compatibility settings. Right click on Lock On 1.1 (1.12) startup icon. Left Click Properties. Select Compatibility Tab. Place checkmark in Run program in compatibility mode for Windows XP SP2. PROBLEM SOLVED. Program loads and runs with no video render errors noticed.

Hope this helps first time installers of Flaming Cliffs who run into this problem.

Still enjoying this awesome fltsim.

Graphics Glitch update

On closer inspection because problem resurfaced I discovered the missing cockpits and white skin was due to User Account Control being turned on. With User Account Control turned off Flaming Cliffs runs fine in Vista.
